HULAPUNK (Honolulu/Hamburg)
Johnny Rotten wütet im Bastrock. Sid Vicious randaliert mit Blumenkette. Joe Strummer rockt mit Ukulele. Und Hulapunk? Abgesehen davon, daß die obigen Herren das Zeitliche gesegnet haben, klingt das unvorstellbar. Seit Hulapunk wissen wir, daß es funktioniert. Ziemlich gut sogar. Punksongs mit Hawaiihemd, Blumenkette, Ukulele und der Hawaiigitarre. Südseeflair trifft auf ungezügelte Energie, gepaart mit bitterschwarzem "Monty Python" Humor. Eine enthemmte Mischung, die selbst dem manisch depressivstem Griesgram eine Lachfalte ins Gesicht tackert.
Vielleicht kommt ja dieses Jahr auch noch die lang angekündigte und lang ersehnte Tour DVD heraus.

The investigators and inventors of Hulapunk, called Hulapunk are permamanently "on the road". Armed with a Ukulele, Lap steel guitar, a bass and a pair of bongos they have already hit Europe in a hard way. These Roaddogs have entered Germany, Holland and UK. The US follows this year. Everybodys invited to join the on their crusade to insanity. Or is it just a comic strip...A tale? Who knows. Who cares!
